A Hobo Shopping

During my student years I worked as a part-time clerk at a discount department store which sold various items in a cheap price. One day in came a hobo who was well-known in our town. He tried to steal three white dress shirts. I asked him to put the shirts back. He gave me two of the shirts but kept one and said: “I need shirts like everybody else.” His argument was somehow so striking that I got confused and let him walk away with the shirt.
