We have two young and active dogs who greet very wildly all the humans stepping in from the front door. It is wise to make some preparations before entering, for example by removing any headphone cords which could get broken when the dogs jump towards you. Sometimes I am returning from a walk with the dogs and get ready to their greeting ceremony before opening the door, although they have been with me all the time.
